Teaching and Learning Coordinator

The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, Agriculture & Lands invites applications for the following education roles within the Government school system for 2021/22 academic years commencing August 2021

Teaching and Learning Coordinator

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting teachers in improving their practice in their classrooms through a range of strategies including, but not limited to, coaching, demonstration lessons, joint planning and guided observations. The post holder will be responsible, under the guidance of a deputy principal, for leading the development, implementation and monitoring of projects and initiatives to improve teaching and learning.

Required qualifications, experience & special skills include the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognized institution with some prior experience in managing people and subject areas.
• Formal teacher training/qualification as specified in the Department of Education Services policy on Teacher Qualifications.
• Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience as a teacher with a demonstrated track record of successful teaching and learning, working with students and colleagues from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Experience of working with teachers in a supportive, developmental or training capacity.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Effective management skills, with the ability to lead by example.
• IT literate, with knowledge and experience of best practice in the use of school information management system.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to students, parents, colleagues, and other education stakeholders.
