Gwen Bush Memorial Scholarship
Application Form & Criteria
The Ministry of Education, the CISA and the CMHF came together to establish the Gwen Bush Memorial Scholarship in order to revive the boat building trade of yesteryear Cayman and other maritime careers.
The scholarship is so named in recognition of Ms. Gwen Bush’s dedicated service to Caymanian seamen during the “Southwell” years of shipping in the Cayman Islands.
The scholarship is intended to be used to promote careers in the boat building trade and other maritime careers.
The Education Council, with the CISA and the CMHF will fund any deserving young Caymanian to pursue studies in the boat building trade and other maritime careers through an annual scholarship. The successful recipient will receive funding of up to CI$ 20,000 per annum under the scholarship.
Applicants for the scholarship must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Possess the Right to be Caymanian
- Be domiciled in the Cayman Islands for 5 years immediately prior to application
- Be at least 18 years of age during the academic year that studies commence
- Meet any minimum academic requirements fixed for the grant of the overseas scholarship.
