The RBC Harry Chisholm Scholarship Offer

RBC Royal Bank is offering a local scholarship and internship package for a Caymanian student to attend a local institution in pursuit of careers in Banking and Finance and wishing to obtain developmental on-the-job-training and mentorship, who are current Education Council local scholarship holders or awaiting confirmation of their applications.

The RBC scholarship is in addition to the provisions of the Education Council Local Scholarship offering noted below. The scholarship is being offered every two years commencing in September 2018 and is valid for two years of bachelor level study.

The Scholarship is valued up to CI$15,000 per year and shall be applied as follows:

  1. Tuition and/or Incidentals & school-related fees and expenses
  2. Paid internship with RBC Royal Bank (Cayman) Limited for 20 weeks, 14 of which must be fulfilled (unbroken) during the summer vacation period.

Qualification Criteria

  1. Applicants must:
    1. have been accepted to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree at the UCCI, ICCI or UWI Open Campus in the Cayman Islands;
    2. Possess an Associate’s Degree showing a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and has been accepted at a qualifying degree to read for a Bachelor of Science Degree in the disciplines listed below; or
    3. be pursuing a BSC Degree at any of the qualifying institutions in the following disciplines:
      • Banking
      • Business Administration
      • Finance or
      • Any Finance-related programme
  2. Possess the Right to be Caymanian
  3. Be domiciled in the Cayman Islands during the immediate 5 years prior to application
  4. Be 18 years or older
  5. Demonstrate to RBC’s satisfaction a genuine interest in the Banking Industry
  6. Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, work ethics and good character
  7. Applicants must be willing to participate in RBC’s Career Launch Internship and mentorship 20-week programme which includes employment over a sustained summer period

Education Council Local Scholarship Award:

  1. International College of the Cayman Islands (ICCI):
    • Full Time Study: up to 80% of the tuition
    • Part Time Study: up to 80% of the tuition
  2. University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI):
    • Full Time Study: up to 100% of the tuition plus cost of all books
    • Part Time Study: up to 100% of the tuition plus cost of all books
  3. University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus:
    • Full Time Study: up to 100% of the tuition plus cost of all books
    • Part Time Study: up to 100% of the tuition plus cost of all books
