For more than a decade the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute has offered local societies a complimentary set of the CFA curriculum for use in their communities. The CFA Society Cayman Islands continued its long-held tradition of donating the books to the Cayman Islands Public Library Service for accessibility to all residents in the Cayman Islands.

On Thursday, 15 January 2015, the CFA Institute and CFA Society of the Cayman Islands presented the 2015 edition of the CFA curriculum to the George Town Public Library.

Government officials led by Minister for Education, Employment and Gender Affairs (EE&GA), Hon. Tara Rivers, were on hand to accept the material, which spans all three levels of the study programme that leads to the CFA certification.

Minister Rivers thanked the CFA Institute as well as the CFA Society Cayman Islands for the annual donation which allows persons studying for the CFA examinations access to the most up-to-date material.  She said, “Because of the generous donation of the CFA institute and CFA Society Cayman Islands, those living in the Cayman Islands who wish to pursue their professional designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst can easily access the resources they need for their studies free of charge.  I would like to thank both organisations for their continued support and annual donation.  I would also like to thank the Cayman Islands Public Library Service for making these materials available to the public.”

President of the local Society Monique Frederick, commented that this is one way the Society can encourage students and professionals alike to either consider pursuing the CFA designation or utilize this resource as reference material. She added: “In its efforts to assist in improving financial knowledge and literacy on island, the Society, in partnership with Radio Cayman, will now also commence a monthly talk show focused on investment related topics”.
