The Department of Education Services (DES) has begun receiving, collating and analysing results from external examinations taken during the 2009/2010 academic year.
The examinations and various examining boards are:
- Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) from the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC);
- General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) from the Assessment and Qualification Alliance (AQA) and Welsh Joint Education Committee (WJEC); and
- Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) from Edexcel.
Results from each of these boards are released at different times during the month of August. Upon receipt the DES collates them to develop a complete record for students who have taken exams from multiple boards. It is anticipated that the final results will be released to the Department of Education Services on Tuesday, 24 August.
Parents and students are therefore advised that all external examination results can be collected on 30th and 31st August, from 9:00 a.m. each day, at the Clifton Hunter (formerly George Hicks) school hall.
Results will not
be available at the John Gray High School.
Year 11 students, who will be entering the new Year 12 programme this September, must collect their results, then meet with school counsellors and administrative staff to determine their Year 12 options. Placement in either the Foundation Studies, VoCat or Advanced Placement
programme is dependent on examination results.
Year 12 students, from the 2009/2010 school year, cannot collect results until all outstanding exam fees are submitted.
