After over forty years of serving her community, Mrs. Corisue Terry retired on Friday, January 25, 2013 when she closed her early childhood centre, Corisue Daycare. “Ms. Susie” or “Granny Susie” as she is better known in the community began working in early childhood with the late Mr. Bud Gordon many years ago. She later opened her own centre in her home in Lower Valley. More than three generations of some families have passed through Ms. Susie’s hands over the years.

On the last day of operation at Corisue’s Nursery, Deputy Premier and Minister of Education the Honourable Rolston Anglin, JP, Minister of Community Affairs, Gender and Housing, the Honourable Dwayne Seymour, George Town MLA Mr. Kurt Tibbetts, OBE, JP, Bodden Town MLA Mr. Anthony Eden, OBE, JP and Chief Officer for Education Mrs. Mary Rodrigues joined members of the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Unit along with Mr. Richard Terry, Ms. Susie’s son, in offering best wishes and a special gift for a happy retirement and to thank her for her years of service. It was a happy occasion that marked a new beginning for Ms. Susie.

After taking a rest, Ms. Susie plans to spend more time creating her wonderful quilts, gardening and going on a cruise with her family.
