Architectural Services

TENDER CLOSED

On behalf of the Cayman Islands Government (CIG), the Ministry of Education, Training, Employment, Youth, Sports & Culture invites tenders from eligible consultants for the provision of architectural and engineering services on the projects described below. The services required include, but are not limited to, provision of design and design development drawings, planning and building control submissions, full construction documentation (including Struct, MEP, ID, Commissioning and FF&E) and post award contract administration. A full scope of services required is contained in the Invitation to Tender document.

The proposed works includes the procurement of new high schools, one at Frank Sound, one at George Town and one at West Bay. The size of the schools depending on the location will range between 130,000 and 160,000 sq ft. and will include ancillary works such as car parking, sports and playing fields. Each will serve as a designated hurricane shelter, and will be built to appropriate hurricane shelter standards.

Interested firms in the design of the new schools will need to meet the following eligibility criteria in order to be considered and evaluated:

have completed at least three educational facilities over the last 10 years, two of which must be high schools projects
proven ability in innovative, contemporary school design
ability to obtain professional Indemnity to a minimum value of US$2,000,000

The deadline for submitting tenders is 10:00 a.m., on or before 22 September 2006. Tenders must be submitted in a sealed envelope to:

Late tenders will not be accepted. CIG will not defray any cost incurred by applicants submitting tenders. The Cayman Islands Government shall not be bound to assign any reason for not accepting any tender.
