Sports Consultancy Services

The Cayman Islands Government Ministry of Education, Training, Employment, Youth, Sports & Culture is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced Sports Consultant, with a view to determining the strategic direction and priorities for the advancement of sports in the Cayman Islands.

Specifically, the advice being sought has four principal outputs:

1. Strategic Policy Direction – The determination of a direction for the future development of sports in line with best international practice and the particular needs of the Cayman Islands. Policy should take a holistic view of sporting programmes, facilities and other resources to determine a balance between the use of sport as a vehicle to encourage and promote good health and social integration, with the need to allow high performance athletes and potential high performance athletes to develop and achieve their maximum potential in their respective sports;
2. Organisational Structure and Capacity – The establishment of an appropriate national structure, or structures, for the advancement of sport in the Cayman Islands. The structure or structures, should identify the role and function for the Ministry of Education, Training Employment, Youth, Sports and Culture, The Department of Sports, The Education Department; the National Sporting Associations and Community based sporting initiatives in the context of an overarching governing body for sport at the National Level;
3. Legislative Framework – The production of a law or laws which give legitimacy to the organisational structure or structures determined in (2) above for the advancement of sport in the Cayman Islands, which are aligned with relevant international obligations;
4. Implementation Plan – The production of an implementation plan and timetable.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess relevant expertise, including 10 or more years working in Sports related fields with specific experience in the provision of Sports consultancy services.
