Project Scope
On behalf of the Cayman Islands Government (CIG), The Ministry of Education, Training, Employment, Youth, Sports & Culture (the “Client”) invites the submission of tenders from interested parties for the provision of a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) solution to connect a number of its school and office locations.
Description of Services
The Ministry of Education will consider a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) to be a private data network that makes use of a 3rd party telecommunication infrastructure, maintaining privacy through the use of a tunneling protocol and security procedures. The preferred solution will include the following:
- A MAN solution that is built upon a modern carrier infrastructure (Frame Relay, SDH/Sonet Rings, Broadband Wireless, xDSL, etc)
- A single Carrier MAN solution end-to-end
- Real world lowest latency metrics for end-to-end connectivity
Eligibility for Tender
- Companies or individuals tendering must comply with all applicable local laws including ICTA, business registrations, pensions and other labor regulations and any other applicable regulations.
- Bidders are reminded that the bids should be inclusive of all cost necessary for them to conduct business in the Cayman Islands.
- Stated technical ability of the Tenderer to meet all the mandatory requirements in tender document
Collection and Access to Tender Documents
All relevant information regarding this tender can be downloaded online at: www.brighterfutures.gov.ky/tenders. However, interested parties can also obtain a copy of the tender at the Ministry of Education, Training, Employment, Youth, Sports and Culture (details below), requesting a copy of the tender document package. Completed documents must be returned to the Secretary, Central Tenders Committee in a sealed envelope clearly marked with ‘CTC-MEDU-ICT001-2007/8’ on or before 12 p.m. on 19th October, 2007.
The Ministry of Education, Training, Employment, Youth, Sports & Culture shall not be bound to assign any reason for not accepting any tender and will not defray any cost incurred by applicants.
