Hurricane Repairs to Changing Rooms at Truman Bodden Sports Complex

Project scope

On Behalf of the Cayman Islands Government (CIG), the Ministry of Education, Training, Employment, Youth, Sports & Culture (the Client) intends to proceed with the REPAIRS TO THE CHANGING ROOMS at TRUMAN BODDEN SPORTS COMPLEX (ETEYS&C), located in the district of George Town. On completion, the facility will be handed over to the Department of sports, who will be responsible for its operation.

Description of Services

The services required include, but are not limited to, construction repairs including structural, MEP,& commissioning, A full scope of works will be contained in the tender documentation package.

The proposed works includes the removal of half of the existing roof, installation of new half of roof, installation of standing seam roof to entire roof, electrical re-installation, mechanical re-installation, plumbing re-installation, retiling of floors, re-installation of ceilings, replacement of all doors, replacement of cabinets, and refinishing of walls.

Eligibility

Interested firms will need to meet the following eligibility criteria in order to be considered and evaluated.

  1. Ability to acquire contractors all risk insurance to a minimum value of CI $1,000,000.00
  2. Companies or individuals bidders must comply with all applicable local laws including business registrations, pensions and other regulations and any other regulations.
  3. Bidders are reminded that the bids should be inclusive of all cost necessary for them to conduct business in the Cayman Islands.

Evaluation

The criteria for evaluation and the relative points weighting will be included in the tender documentation, Particular attention is drawn to the securing of firms with experience of similar project size and type.

Return of Tenders

The bids are to be returned no later than 10:00am on Wednesday October. 10th 2007 in a sealed envelope to:

The Ministry Tenders Committee, 3rd floor, Royal Plaza, Cardinall Avenue, George Town, Grand Cayman.

Further Information

All bidders are requested to submit any question they may have five days prior to the tender return date.

Late bids will not be accepted, CIG will not defray any cost incurred by bidders. The Cayman Islands government shall not be bound to assign any reason for not accepting any tender.`
