2009 National Education Conference

"February 24th 2009 marked the National Education Conference titled: Teachers make a difference, High expectations, Higher achievements. Inside Mary Miller hall the walls were decorated with student art as well as and approximately 550 teachers and education professionals. MC’ing the days events was L. Angela Martins, Permanent Secretary/ Chief Officer and the first speaker she introduced was the Hon. D. Kurt Tibbetts, Leader of Government Business. The Keynote speaker for the morning was Dr. Didacus Jules, the current Registrar and Chief Executive of the Caribbean Examinations Council. Dr. Didacus gave an interesting and stirring presentation based on the theme of the conference, High expectations, Higher achievements. Following Dr. Jules was the Hon. Alden McLaughlin, Minister for Education. After a short break the attendees went on to attend many interesting and in depth sessions dealing with a range of subjects in the education world."
